In the second episode of DRTV, we take a look at Larkspur, home of Dancing Rabbit members Tony B. and Alyssa. In their tour, the duo includes information and tips about their natural house design and building process. Larkspur features local and sustainable building materials, including reclaimed lumber, light clay straw insulation, and earthen plaster, and its power is provided by renewable energy sources, including solar panels and a wind tower.

I want one! That is my idea of a dream home.
Thank you for being a model and providing a vision. My partner and I watched this and she looked at me and said “I want to build you an eco-home baby”.
It’s great to see sustainable materials and design put to good use! I wish you showed a little more of what else is in the house, but I can see how the design and the cob walls makes it interesting enough. Thanks for the tour
Brian, this is great, these are the kinds of videos I’d like to see. I think it would also be great if you could post how to videos of some the projects as well. For example, how to make the plaster or the mud floor. Everything from the type of clay to how you make the screens that you use to sift. etc.
This is a great medium for those of us who cant get up to see you soon enough.
Thanks!! Please keep up the good work!
I really enjoyed watching this! Wonderful vibe, both from you two and from your lovely house. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your home and story with us! Congrats on the birth of your baby!
Blessings,
Sandy
Does anyone have experience with earthen floor finishes other than boiled linseed oiil? I am allergiic to the solvents in it and don’t want to be near the heavy metalsw in it either.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Margaret

Beautiful.. thanks for sharing
Think I’ve just seen the type of constuction I’ll use on my next house using natural and sustainable materials. Beautiful home, thanks for posting this video.
I really loved your house!
We are starting the foundation on our straw bale house this weekend. I would love to talk to you about the straw/clay slip in the walls, we have a lot of roof area and I would love a more natural insulation in that space and I have lots of straw and clay.
Please give me a ring or if you can send me somewhere to do the research that would be great.

This made me smile. Congrats on a truly beautiful home!
You both look so happy in your beautiful little house! Simple, safe, and sustainable, you are happier there than most are in a mansion! This is so very inspiring to see.
I would love to learn how to do this, too. I am working on it, and also just have begun working on getting a group of people together to form a new intentional community here in Western Kentucky. Hopefully, I can get the right people together to buy some land and get started!
God bless you both and your new baby, too!
